At Liberty Barn Preschool, we believe that early childhood education is about more than just the ABCs and 123s. It's about creating a well-rounded experience that nurtures each child’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence. That’s why we offer a variety of special opportunities designed to enrich learning, encourage socialization, and foster both fine and gross motor development. These experiences make our program unique and provide children with the tools they need to grow in every way.
Enrichment: Our Enrichment class takes learning to the next level by offering hands-on experiences that go beyond the traditional preschool curriculum. This class meets weekly and children "visit" a new country each week. Students learn about the mode of transportation needed to get there; they learn about the climate, geography, culture, foods eaten, sports played and much more! Students also get a passport and collect stamps throughout their journey. This class encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Through engaging projects and activities, children build confidence in their abilities and develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
Lunch Bunch: A Time to Connect Our Lunch Bunch program provides an extended day experience where children can enjoy lunch with friends in a relaxed and social setting. This special time is not just about eating; it’s an opportunity to practice important social skills such as conversation, cooperation, and independence. Children gain confidence in making choices, develop table manners, and strengthen friendships while enjoying an unhurried meal together.
STEAM: Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math Our STEAM program allows children to dive into hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity and innovation. Each week, we explore a new concept through experiments, building challenges, art projects, and interactive lessons. STEAM activities promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving—skills that are essential for future learning. These activities also provide valuable opportunities to strengthen both fine and gross motor skills, whether through precise painting strokes or large-scale building projects.
Art and Music Specials: Creativity in Action Art and music are vital components of early childhood development. Our art class meets every Monday for our four and five year olds and gives children the chance to express themselves through various mediums, improving fine motor skills, creativity, and self-confidence. Music time introduces rhythm, repetition, movement, and melody, allowing children to explore different sounds and instruments while developing coordination and listening skills. Both art and music offer a joyful way to enhance learning and self-expression.
The Power of Socialization and Expanding Horizons These special opportunities are not just about academic enrichment—they also play a crucial role in social and emotional development. Through group activities, collaborative projects, and shared experiences, children learn to communicate, cooperate, and build meaningful relationships. By stepping outside of their daily routines and trying new activities, they develop confidence, resilience, and a broader understanding of the world around them.
Our goal is to provide children with a well-rounded early learning experience that nurtures all aspects of their development. Whether they are creating art, conducting experiments, sharing lunch with friends, or making music, every opportunity is designed to spark joy, curiosity, and a love for learning. We are proud to offer these enriching experiences and look forward to seeing our students thrive as they explore, create, and grow!
